BlackheadsUpdated 9 months ago

Blackheads, also known as open comedones, are tiny bumps on your skin caused by clogged hair follicles. They are a form of acne that can appear on the face, but they can also present on the back, chest, neck, arms, and shoulders. They seem black not because of dirt, but because of surface oxidation of trapped oil and dead skin cells.

Blackheads form when:

  1. Sebum (oil produced by sebaceous glands) production increases.

  2. Dead skin cells accumulate in the hair follicle.

  3. The combination of sebum and dead skin cells blocks the follicle.

  4. The top of this blockage becomes exposed to air, causing it to oxidize and turn black.

To treat and prevent blackheads, it's essential to unclog pores, reduce oil production, and exfoliate to remove dead skin cells. Here are some of the most effective products for dealing with blackheads:

  1. Tingl Exfoliating Pads

  2. Gentle Acne Cleanser

  3. Retinol Complex 0.5%

  4. L.A. Refining Serum
